When I embark on a project,
I like to first seek out its unique voice,
or rather,
I must uncover its voice;
otherwise,
it's like a sequence frozen in time, impossible to advance.
I need words,
the established facts and viewpoints,
to expand my own schemas.
The sequence of reading is magical,
allowing me to weave together the fabric of my imagination,
shaping their perspective.
The process is slow,
but there is always a clue that brings delight.
Sometimes it is merely a fragment of poetry,
sometimes just a sound,
a movie scene,
a snippet of dialogue...
I gather these and gently place them here.
